This band has quite a different style from the rest of the artists featured on this blog. I started listening to them after NPR mentioned them as one of the best new bands of 2011.
As it's evident on my profile pic, I'm a huge Janis Joplin fan. You can definitely hear her influence on Brittany Howard's singing, and it was what ultimately draw me to them.
They are so powerful live. A fantastic display of blues and soul on stage.
