Let's talk about the Tiny Desk Concert series. I'm awe with them. How can such a simple concept be so wonderful? I suppose it has something to do with the musicians' charm and excellence. I mean, who wouldn't want to be in a small room and have a private showcase with someone like Josh Ritter or James Vincent McMorrow?
There's something amazing about these sessions that capture the best in music. It's simplicity, it's power and above all it's inherent quality, with nothing more than a guitar and a voice. And brilliant songs of course.
Here are a few of my favourites. Just click on the HD button, sit back and enjoy.
Josh Ritter
"The Temptation Of Adam", "Lark", "Rattling Locks" & "Kathleen"
Lisa Hannigan
"Knots", "Little Bird" & "Passenger"
James Vincent McMorrow
"This Old Dark Machine", "Sparrow And The Wolf", "Follow You Down To The Red Oak Tree" & "Red Dust"
The Civil Wars
"Barton Hollow", "Twenty Years" & "Poison & Wine"
