Barnes & Noble - Upstairs and the Square
April 12, 2012
Bill Clegg, literary agent and author of Ninety Days: A Memoir of Recovery, shared the stage with UATS alum Rachael Yamagata.
Songs performed:
The Reason Why
Even So
Even if I Don't
Keep Going
Download
Note: only Rachael Yamagata's songs and interviews are available in this download. You can find the full video of this event at B&N's website (http://www.barnesandnoble.com/upstairs-at-the-square/index.asp), which I highly recommend, since Bill Clegg explains how much Rachael's music helped him through a difficult period in his life.

Here's Grace Potter and The Nocturnals' full performance on weekend 1 at Coachella Festival. Sadly, the stream was on one of the secondary channels, so the video is only 400x244. Nonetheless, check out the festival's official youtube channel for a couple of HD videos of Nothing But the Water and Medicine.

This band has quite a different style from the rest of the artists featured on this blog. I started listening to them after NPR mentioned them as one of the best new bands of 2011.
As it's evident on my profile pic, I'm a huge Janis Joplin fan. You can definitely hear her influence on Brittany Howard's singing, and it was what ultimately draw me to them.
They are so powerful live. A fantastic display of blues and soul on stage.
Here's a great set from their show in Philadelphia on April 9th, broadcast on WXPN radio.
Setlist:
Going to The Party
Hold On
Hang Loose
I Found You
Always Alright
Boys & Girls
Be Mine
Hurricane Strut
Rise to the Sun
Mama
Making Me Itch
You Ain't Alone
Heavy Chevy
encore:
I Ain't The Same
On Your Way
Heat Lightning
How Many More Times (Led Zeppelin cover)
